According to research, while a precise number is difficult to pinpoint, formerly incarcerated individuals are estimated to be 10 times more likely to experience homelessness than the general population; meaning a significant portion of felons may end up homeless after release, with some studies showing that between 10% and nearly 50% of homeless shelter admissions are people with a criminal history. This is due to the fact that most companies do not believe in hiring felons. Citizens can't afford housing if they cannot gain employment.
