Yesterday we saw one small victory! Representative Phil Lyman of the Utah House of Representatives announced he plans to sponsor legislation to remove the exemption for clergy members in Utah’s child abuse reporting law.

He stated, "Families and individuals devastated by physical, emotional, or sexual abuse should find safety and protection in the law, not loopholes.”

This is exactly the kind of response we are looking for! We need more legislatures to do the same.
