Approve Pre Med for Maldivian Students.

Approve Pre Med for Maldivian Students.
The Issue
It is the right of every Maldivian student and parent to decide on A/L or Pre Med. Many students have already joined Premed before, have completed the course and progressed into MD/MBBS at WHO recognised universities. And it is clearly unfair from Medical Council's part to strip it away from the rest of the students who have been preparing, hoping and dreaming to do premed and become successful doctors. All these years, MMDC accepted premed, so the decision to remove it now, when World recognised universities accept this pathway, does not make any sense at all. Rather than removing pre med from minimum criteria, MMDC can establish certain guidelines for the pre med programs that can be accepted. After all pre med is considered to be same qualification to A levels around the globe.
Taking away this right will not only create psychological trauma but also demotivate many others who aspire to carry forward with this dream.
Please sign this petition to create awareness on the decision of MMDC and hope they revoke this decision for the betterment of the Maldivian students currently studying and those who wish to study medicine abroad.
