Petition updateMalcolm Turnbull: we lost our son to suicide while serving in the ADF – please change service contracts so next-of-kin can be notified of self-harm, suicide attempts

I spent the entire day reading every one of your reasons for signing - I need to let you all know.

Most left a reason for supporting this petition. For me it was a day of tears. It is so unbelievable that so many of you are hurting so much. This is not about Stuart, he to me is just the catalyst to right a terrible oversight. A reason for this not to happen to other parents. Comments from near victims themselves, professionals, families of victims, friends of victims and caring adults, many of them parents. Some have asked for more details of Stuart's passing - this is available in its entirety and for the sake of this petition also available for public record. You are all able to email me directly - anytime. Your responses have made me even more determined to get this ADF contract changes adopted. The many, many personal stories that I have read are of your own tragedies, which are no less that our own crushing experience. I would like to SUPERCHARGE this petition as a representation of all cases of suicide that should not have happened - The ADF is just one example, but your comments mention others such as our police, ambulance drivers and fire people. I feel somewhat in debt to you all for the support, in exchange I give my firm undertaking to follow-up on other government organizations that MISS our point. Can you help by running this petition even further? - the greater the number of supporting signatures the better will be our chance to, as one supporter wrote: "I feel sad that Stuart may have lived" love to you all, Mark
