They're listening!!!!. I've just seen media reports that the ADF are saying they're considering changes to mental health checks for serving personnel. A move in the right direction but still off target.   It's a good sign – but I'm worried they're just words. So far they're still refusing to change the contract so that family support for personnel isn’t denied (secrecy still remains), even if they're self-harming and suicidal.    If they're serious about ending the 'alarming rise' in suicide, they need to fix this right away. No more sons and daughters like my boy Stuart should be left to die, isolated and self-harming in the ADF.    Please can you help by emailing into the Assistant Minister for Defence Stuart Robert asking him to urgently bring in this change to ADF clause to prevent suicide among our troops.    His email is stuart.robert.mp@aph.gov.au    We're meeting with Stuart Robert in 2 weeks’ time (19th June), before then, we need as many people to show their direct support as possible. Just a “one liner” before the meeting date; “allow parental access to endangered members of The ADF”.   More than 78,000 people have signed this petition I started after losing Stuart. More and more families are speaking up about losing people to suicide while in the ADF too – it has to end. Too late for Stu (and our family), but not too late for other parents to avoid this horror of horrors. Thanks for your help   Mark Addison
