This case is  similar to the insurrection on January 6, 2021.  The people that were welcomed into the US Capital, trashed and held the Capitol building under siege to intimidate the leaders, so that they would delay and affect the election of the day, on January 6, 2021. Five people lost their lives on that day and many were injured.

Is this the normalization in the United States, namely Florida, that citizens who are subjected to this type of insurrection or threat would be imprisoned when they protect themselves, even when they’re within their right to defend their actions, based on the laws of their states and the Constitution?  Well it’s is not! This case is exceptional.
Norman Scott is a Black man who migrated to the US, from Jamaica W.I.  He later became a citizen and has been a model resident in his community for 25 years. He has Been a law abiding citizen all his life even until today.  After he and his family ended their devotion, his wife Jackie, states that he went out to water his lawn as he usually does, and walked into a scene that was scary and intimidating, depicted in a previous update here.  He noticed that his security camera was eerily blocked by the attacker’s basketball backboard.  The basketball pole was always noticeable in the front of the perpetrator' yard. It blocked the height of  the security camera of his house.  What would each of us do?
His neighbor who wasn’t neighborly refused to abide by Norman's request as he beckoned in his cultural mannerism to remove the pole as the media reported, would be  typical  of Mr. Scott's communication style .  But instead, Mr. Scott told his wife that  he was assaulted, spat and slapped in the face and threatened, that they had a weapon. The perpetrator was a towering attacker, while the perpetrator’s companion looked on and failed to call 911, at the start of the ordeal. This is like the insurrections on that other fateful day.

It was Mr. Scott who made the call to 911 after the attack. but instead of following the protocol of the stand your ground law, the officers, imprisoned him. There is a loud cry of injustice against people of color who access the Justice system in America, believing every time that their rights would be protected.  Inadvertently, the insurrectionists all whites walked away from a crime scene and went home. There is a double standard here.  Is this the America we want to live in? Absolutely not!

Although the evidence is clear that the law is on his side; The officers and the media disregarded the that the basketball backboard was not  there a game or due to a question of easement, as was reported, but it was there for intimidation and aggravation.  Family pray and hope all involved in the case, to drop the charge against the accused Mr. Scott and that he be release from the FL. penal system immediately, pending a thorough investigation, we pray.

Our father, which art in Heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily Bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  Amen.
