We’ve had a breakthrough! Labour are now talking about supporting Proportional Representation in their election manifesto. If they did, it would mean every major party except the Conservatives are committed to fair votes.

However this is by no means a done deal. Help us push PR further up the political agenda by signing our cross-party letter to Jeremy Corbyn and Theresa May, calling on them both to back Proportional Representation.

As well as members of the public, we’re lining up political parties, organisations and well known figures to add their support to this letter. We’ll be revealing these in the coming days, so watch out for the news.

Sign the letter here: www.makevotesmatter.org.uk/open-letter-2017

Once you’ve signed, please share the letter with your friends on social media, by email or in person - let’s make it huge!

Labour’s return to the debate about the voting system was triggered by the publication of our joint report with the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform, as well as polling we’ve released showing that an overwhelming majority of voters want PR. In fact, 76% of Labour voters said they think party should commit to PR - a tiny 5% were opposed.
