Well it was back in January 2018 I contacted the then newly appointed Secretary of State for Education, Damien Hinds, it was March before I heard back from one of his Assistants who contacted me to discuss the matter and promising she would speak with Mr Hinds to find out what his plans were regarding the Uniform subject. Then silence, having chased & chased FINALLY a response, albeit a pathetic one, but at least one snippet of information I wasn't previously privy to, the estimated time of the planned legislative slot promised by both former Sec of State for Ed, Morgan & Greening....it MIGHT be September 2019, but no guarantee!!! So effectively it's still not important enough for them, regardless of the Governments (empty) promise to deal with it way back in 2015! A cut & paste of the e-mail is below, but it's hardly a riveting read! So please can you actively continue to share this petition and seek out new signees.

Thank you for your note and phone messages. As I think you know, I’m not involved in any of the work undertaken by Damian as Education Secretary and as such would not ordinarily handle any query relating to the Department for Education, but as we did talk earlier in the year I have spoken with the team at the DfE regarding your query. 

I can tell you that the DfE remain committed to putting the guidance on a statutory footing and will do so at the next available opportunity. They anticipate that the next opportunity to consider a suitable slot for this measure will be in the second session of this Parliament, beginning in September 2019. However, they must consider the appropriate time for legislating in the context of competing pressures on the parliamentary timetable.
