Hey Guys,
We had my Son Nicks, Memorial Ride out on Sunday.
We had over 100 bikes turn up and we raised £550 by selling raffle tickets.
Last week after the channel 5 news report I was fortunate enough to be called by MCN who are also supporting the campaign, defibrillator fund and are reporting in this Wednesdays paper.
The petition and defib fund went up on Plantec Assist’s webiste last week which is fantastic for us.
St Johns ambulance have been so helpful with sourcing the right machine at the best price.
STILL no word from the powers that be but we will not be shushed.. !!
Today being the 24th of April is a particularly difficult day for myself and all of Nicks family and friends.
He was such a great person he touched the hearts of many.
Which spurs me on to say to all of you who have lost someone ? Together, We are preventing more lives lost to ignorance on the road.
There are so many vehicles on the road these days. A new attitude towards each other is crucial to this campaign to eventually be able to create a new generation of drivers.
A friend said to me yesterday that she takes the extra time to look now. She is a better driver because she signed the petition and its making her think.
I had a little smile to myself and pondered over wether this was the same for other drivers too?
And maybe this is already saving lives.
I truly hope so.
We have managed to raise enough money for our first defibrillator !!! Thank you so much to everyone donating!! The first one will be placed at loomies motor cafe.
The second we hope to place at portsdown hill a popular bike spot.
If anyone would like to suggest a place near them thats notorious for accidents please email the nickbrislandtrust@outlook.com
And we’ll take a look.
Keep sharing if you can !! Its making a huge difference already !!
