Hey everyone, sorry for not giving an update in a while. You guys are fantastic. First, I would like to say we have reached 166 supporters—a high five through the screen. Second, I want to share why I made this petition fast. I believe food, shelter, and clothing should be accessible as those are the three basic needs of humans; everything else is a want.

Since I know the rich folks would have a hay day if that were the case. I looked at my current situation. I pay close to $1,189 a month for my apartment. My apartment complex has black mold and roaches, and they had a meth lab in one of the apartment buildings that burnt the building behind me down. I have asked them to fix my plumbing multiple times. The only water damage they semi-fix is flooding. They have you stay in your apartment while they dry it out and eventually recarpet the room. 

With all these things going on plus the lack of building matenice, my apartment is only really worth $850 at most. Plus, I live with a mold known to kill and have constantly been getting sick. I can only imagine what others have or are dealing with the same struggles.

With rent, excel, wifi, insurance, and paying my phone bill, I can't even afford medical needs, let alone new clothes and personal items. I am 1000% sure I am not the only one going through this, having to go to the food banks and be ashamed to ask for help with hygiene and food. So, in turn, I was like, well, let's make a petition for rent amounts as at least the people of colorado can pay for what they get and be able to afford other needs.
