Happy Sunday everyone,

Our interview on BBC Radio Five Live was a big success! We had an in-depth and fascinating conversation with upskirting activist Gina Martin and presenter Nihal Arthanayake: you can have a listen here (we're on 8 minutes in!). We spoke at length about the importance of including men within this conversation in order for real change to happen. Lots of listeners were really shocked to hear that 2/3 of schoolgirls in the UK have faced unwanted sexual attention in public. It brought home to us just how crucial it is to have a public conversation about street harassment, alongside legal change. We need an open and honest examination of the prevalence and impact street harassment in order for anything to change.

I also wanted to mention something else. TUC research has shown that 1 in 2 women and 2 out of 3 LGBT workers have experienced sexual harassment at work, yet 4 out of 5 feel unable to report this. We strongly believe that all forms of harassment are linked, and that they must be tackled simultaneously. That’s why we’re taking part in an organizing call this Monday (tomorrow!) at 7pm with Frances O’Grady and other powerful activists discussing workplace harassment, and what can be done about it. Everyone is welcome to join - register for it here!

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday evening,

Maya
