Wow! Can’t believe Maya and I have been working on the OurStreetsNow Campaign for 6 months! The time’s flown by - probably because it’s kept us both so busy!
We are thrilled that 168,615 of you (and counting!) have signed our petition. Having so many people behind us means everything. The campaign has attracted so much attention because street harassment has affected the majority of girls and women at some point in their lives.
Our Instagram followers - 10.8k as we write - get to see some fantastic artwork. We are so grateful to the many artists who’ve come up with memorable images capturing various aspects of street harassment. There are so many talented artists out there and now we have such a strong following we can showcase their work and get their messages out there. Make sure to follow us at @ourstreetsnow on Instagram and @nowstreets on Twitter.
We’d also like to mention how proud we are of the nearly 10k likes on an article discussing the street harassment faced by disabled women and the lack of research on the subject. Intersectionality is always at the forefront of our minds.
Thanks a lot for these amazing last 6 months of support; we won't let you down. <3
