Ollie deserves Employee of the Month because he puts in a weirdly dedicated 30-minute hair ritual every morning, yet somehow still manages to rock up early to every job. At 6’6”, he’s basically the company’s built-in crane. He digs massive trenches, shaws trenches, shifts dirt and swings a shovel like he was born for it. But Ollie’s talents don’t stop at the physical work — he also has an incredible ability to smoothly chat with all the single-mum clients, somehow turning a routine plumbing gig into a full-blown social engagement while still maintaining the professionalism of a seasoned customer-service specialist.
Above all, Ollie is an absolute fan favourite among his co-workers. Everyone knows that when Ollie is on the job, the work is getting done. He’s reliable, consistent and always willing to get stuck in. If there’s a massive job, a brutal labouring task or something that needs sorting, Ollie is already there. Perhaps his most impressive achievement, however, is his miraculous ability to recover every Monday after a massive Saturday night out with the boys at the Coogee Bay Hotel, where he somehow manages to put away plenty of pints and still emerge on Monday morning ready to work. While lesser men would still be recovering on the couch, Ollie rocks up like nothing happened — hair perfectly styled, tools ready and somehow full of energy. Nobody knows how he does it, but it’s borderline superhuman resilience.
