Family & Supporters, Petition Update 🚨
On 15 September 2025 we launched our petition to protect and fund Notting Hill Carnival. Two weeks in, here’s where we stand:
✅ Over 200 signatures so far
👀 Over 13,000 views of the petition
📢 335 shares across social media
💷 Almost @200 invested in promotion
This shows the interest is real, but the signing numbers needs to grow more.
Here’s the reality: the Parliament petition was rejected on a technicality (they said Carnival funding is a local authority issue, not Parliament’s). But this is not the end. We will:
👉🏿 Submit a new Parliament petition reframing Carnival as a protected national cultural tradition by making it law.
👉🏿 Push for statutory government funding, distributed through councils, so Carnival’s survival isn’t left to chance.
Next steps:
I’ll refile the petition this week.
We all need to push harder: signing, sharing, and promoting.
Remember — Carnival is more than a party. It’s our legacy, history, and culture.
Let’s PUSH together — if we don’t fight for this, no one else will.
It’s more than a party — it’s a celebration of our legacy.
