Hi all,

Thanks for signing the Belmont petition to get town leadership to take action on making it safe for our kids to get to and from the new Middle and High School. I'm writing asking you to share the petition to others in town as I would like to get our numbers over 100 to show that there is support for this issue across town.  An email went out to Middle School students suggesting that they take roads other than Goden and Oak to get to school. In my view, this is, in essence, saying that Goden and Oak are too dangerous for our kids. I think this is not the right solutions because: (a) anyone with kids knows they are not likely to follow the suggestion, and (b) if the street is too dangerous for our kids, we need to make the street safer for all.  I will provide the petition to various town leaders and boards once we hit a critical mass of signatures and keep you updated. Meanwhile, any day you want to come by (please, on foot!) to these streets to see the danger for yourself, please do.
