Yesterday, 6/13/17....just another day. I have a doctor appointment with my pain management physician. I report for my appointment, receive an order for a medical procedure, and a new prescription. I go to the local CVS pharmacy to have my prescription filled. The pharmacist proceeds to tell me that my coverage with CIGNA expired on 1/1/14, so they could not fill my prescription. Not only did this happen to me, it happened to one of my co-workers, and I was told by my pharmacist that it happened to another CIGNA patient earlier in the day. I was ALSO informed that the same problem occurred at Walgreens. Apparently, this company is so screwed up, they cannot even keep their customers in the system.
My premiums are automatically withdrawn from my paycheck every two weeks. So I wasn't dropped or canceled. THIS is what I'm talking about with CIGNA. This needs to stop! So today, I'm gonna have to fight like hell to get this problem corrected for probably thousands of CIGNA consumers, because I'll likely be denied for my medical procedure as well if I don't. Thanks once again, CIGNA. Just when things can't get any worse, YOU RISE TO THE OCCASION!!
