There are still a few leaders who make India proud. One such leader is Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. He has sanctioned Rs. 60,00000 to feed the stray animals of Odisha.

Wish more Chief Ministers came out with such initiatives. The second covid wave has shattered the citizens of India. There is not a single family in India who has not been affected directly or indirectly by this terrible pandemic.
Sharbati a 57 year old caregiver residing in East Vinod Nagar in East Delhi left for her heavenly abode yesterday on 9th May 2021. She struggled for life in a sub concious state for twelve days as she was infected with Covid. Her condition became worse because she was an asthmatic patient too. She used to stay with her daughter's family and used to feed not only the dogs residing in her block but also dogs of other areas especially the ones residing near two garbage bins. She had dedicated her entire life serving the voiceless. She used to feed the dogs when everyone in the neighbourhood was asleep because people often used to fight with her for feeding the dogs. Anyway she is gone now and the only souls searching for her would be her family and all those dogs who used to anxiously wait for her post midnight for their dinner. Hema (M-+919818997626) a caregiver herself and neighbour of Sharbati is totally devastated. Sharbati was a pillar of strength for her. Her loss is great loss to both the caregivers of the area and the stray dogs.
God knows what will happen to all those dogs whom she used to feed? Who will feed them? Due to swachhta abhiyan (cleanliness drive) the garbage bins in Delhi are cleaned up and there is hardly any leftover for stray animals to eat. There are no provisions made by the municipality for such dogs who reside near the bins. They used to earlier eat the leftovers thrown by the people in the garbage bins. But today they are entirely dependent on caregivers like Sharbati. Shouldn't the municipal corporations install food stations for such stray animals? There is nothing wrong in cleanliness but what is wrong is the insensitivity and apathy of the authorities towards the voiceless of India.
Anyway today both humans and animals are in a miserable state in India. Humans are suffering due to covid and stray animals are suffering due to starvation. The only difference is that we can speak and they cannot.
Kindly go to the link below to see how the stray dogs are suffering in India. They are not only hungry and thirsty but also missing their caregivers. The caregivers on the other hand are feeling miserable. They are absolutely helpless.......
