This is the most horrendous and dastardly act by an RWA (Resident welfare Association).

The incident has taken place in Kundli, TDI city, Sonipat in Haryana. And the culprits who got one dog killed and drove all the others out of the society are none other than the RWA members. The WhatsApp conversation which has gone viral clearly shows how the RWA members are telling the residents that they have got one mad dog killed and got all the others removed from the society. They have also shared the video of their cowardly act of killing the helpless and traumatised dog whom they tagged as rabid. Apparently the dog bit eight people so without giving any second thought they decided to kill him and remove all the other dogs from the society.

If one reads their WhatsApp messages one can easily know the sick mindset these people have towards stray dogs and the caregivers. They have objection to them roaming in the parks. Firstly because they dirty the park and secondly because their children play in the park. Needless to say if the parents have such mindset then what kind of parenting they must be giving to their children. They have also confessed that they have killed a dog and have thrown all the others out of the society by beating them with sticks. They have instructed guards not to allow any dog inside and asked the caregivers not to feed the dogs. For them the caregivers are worse than dogs. Because it is because of them that the dogs live in their society. Kindly go on the following link to read their WhatsApp messages and the video of their killing a dog:

The dog who was killed may have been rabid or may have been forced to bite these human monsters because of their negative behaviour. But in either case these people had no right to kill the dog. They should have called the municipal corporation or an animal welfare NGO and taken their opinion and help. Killing a dog is both illegal and barbaric. And these monsters should definitely be punished.

And then who has given them the right to remove all the other dogs from.the society? They have instructed the guards to not allow any dog inside the compound of the society. Also they have asked the caregivers not to feed the dogs in the society.

The dog rules 2001 clearly says that stray dogs cannot be relocated then why is this RWA indulging in anything like this?

What is the Sonipat Municipal Corporation doing?

Have they ever created awareness regarding ABC program or the dog rules?

Are they implementing the ABC program in their area? Probably not because if they were doing it then why would there be so much dog population. Why would people be taking law into their hands?

Why isn't the common man of India not aware about how to control dog population and how to make our India canine rabies free?

The main culprits are not the RWA or the residents who kill dogs or relocate them but the govt machinery which has failed to bring right kind of awareness and implement the ABC program in the right manner.

Everywhere caregivers are blamed for dog overpopulation but it is these caregivers who are helping in dog sterilisation. A caregiver (M+91 95181 06940) from  Sonipat shared the following on an animal WhatsApp group:

"Govt has not started sterilization from past many years. I personally got 37 dogs sterilized from delhi. It's not possible for us to do all alone".

Imagine this caregiver has got 37 dogs sterilised. This is the job of the municipal corporation of Sonipat. But have they done their duty or are they doing it even now?

Probably not.

There is a mad race nowadays amongst the municipal corporations of India to become number one in cleanliness and smartness.

How can killing dogs, relocating them and torturing them make any Indian city clean and smart?

And turning a blind eye to dog population and cruelty towards dogs is a crime which the municipal corporations across India are guilty of.
