Naushad (M- 8586853326) and his brother Salman who are in their early twenties take care of five stray dogs. They shifted recently about few months back in a new neighbourhood in East Delhi. And they instantly took a liking for the five dogs living around them.
Before the family came to live there, the five dogs used to roam around the area in search of food. Sometimes they were lucky and sometimes not. In summers they used to go thirsty for days and in winters they shivered in the cold. They had a life of struggle and discomfort which is what the life of a stray is like in India.
But all that changed once this new muslim family came to stay in this neighbourhood. They not only started feeding the dogs but also gave them names: Biloo, Kaali, Kaloo, Bhoora and Popoo. They took care of their medical problems too.
And now as it's winter time so the family has made provisions for them. At night they put sacks and blankets for their furry friends in their front courtyard where they sleep peacefully without any fear of being shooed away (pic in the post).
We have seen how many Indians have beaten a dog to death, poured acid on them and even burnt them. And that too for very trivial reasons like sitting in front of the house, tearing the car cover, sitting on the staircase etc....
And this is a family who has no issue in giving space to these five dogs in their small courtyard which is right at the entrance of their house.
These five dogs are lucky as they have a home now. Their food and water is guaranteed and along with this they get abundance of love and protection. It is not only Naushad and Salim who love the dogs but also their mother and father. The whole family love their furry friends. Recently when Kaali sustained a minor leg injury, Naushad's mother gave Kaali warm turmeric milk everyday till her leg fully healed.
India needs more families like Naushad's who can give these voiceless souls food, water and love. This is all these beautiful souls require.
If every family in India adopts only one stray dog then the problem of stray dog will automatically disappear. There will be not a single dog roaming hungry on the streets of India.
