On 6th August 2020 Sakshi Singh a caregiver from R.K. Puram sector 9, South Delhi reported the murder of four to five stray dogs (pic of one of the dogs). According to her the residents there are quite hostile towards dogs and have killed (poisoned) few stray dogs whom Sakshi used to feed.

When Sakshi called the police and tried to lodge a complaint against the perpetrators the police started threatening her. The police accused her of stealing in the neighbourhood. Now how bizarre is this but this is nothing new. These are some good old tricks to scare the caregivers from feeding the dogs. Sakshi is a young brave girl but not brave enough to fight the corrupt system. She is so scared now that she has stopped going out of her house to feed the dogs in her neighbourhood.

Now which respectable girl with a bright future ahead would like to be tainted with charges of theft and be called a thief?

The million dollar question is that why is the police siding with the perpetrators and mentally harassing the caregiver and stopping her to raise her voice against the crime? The police and the perpetrators have succeeded in their mission. Instead of being punished and being behind bars they have successfully taken law into their hands and misused it in torturing a noble citizen who was not only doing a lawful thing but also doing a humane thing.

R.K. Puram is a huge complex which has residences of mostly Govt employees.

Unfortunately in India the laws are often broken by the rich and the powerful. And some of the govt employees love to exercise their power for all wrong reasons. For them law has no meaning because they think that they are above it..

It seems Sakshi has been a victim of this manipulation.
