Today on 5th June 2020 the entire world celebrated the world environment Day and India was no exception to it. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the day by planting a sapling in the vicinity of the parliament House. He also tweeted the following:

" Let's pledge to preserve our planet's rich biodiversity. Let us collectively do whatever possible to ensure the flora and fauna with whom we share the Earth thrive. May we leave an even better planet for the coming generations"

Thank you Sir, for such encouraging and inspirational words. Your words today have given hope to millions of animal lovers who had lost hope in the govt machinery in preserving the fauna of the country.  Where practically environment conservation has been reduced to destroying the green area first and then doing plantation drives by planting  trees to compensate it. And animals have no mention at all. Not much is talked about preservation of street animals and all kind of animals big and small with whom we Indians cohabit.

Let's hope that what our honourable Prime Minister has said we all collectively follow it and make this world a better place to live in. To read the entire statement of the Prime Minister kindly go on the link below:

The theme of this year's World Environment Day is 'Biodiversity'. This is indeed a very apt theme especially in today's context where people have completely forgotten the importance of plant and animal species living on this planet. That every species is important because it is there for a purpose. Every plant and every animal has a role to play in order to run this planet. They are all contributing in making planet earth a beautiful place to live in.  So let's not destroy the beauty of earth by destroying these species.

Anyhow there is one consolation on this day for the animals of India and that is, that the people who were behind the killing of the pregnant elephant in Kerala are being interrogated by the police and the forest department of Kerala and according to the Forest Minister of Kerala K. Raju one man has been arrested. Kindly go on the following link to read about the entire report:

Lets hope and pray that this year marks a new beginning for all the animals big and small residing on this beautiful planet. A beginning which is full of human compassion and  human tolerance towards these voiceless creatures. With no blood shed, no cries of agony and no pain.

Amen!
