Ujjain is a city known for the famous Temple of Mahakaal. The temple of Lord Shiva. Millions of Hindu devotee visit this temple every year. It is one of the 12 jyotirlingas, hence it makes this temple a very important place of pilgrimage. 

One of the forms of Shiva is Kaal Bhairava whose companion and vehicle is a dog. All Bhairav temples have dogs around them and devotees often feed the dogs as they believe that by feeding dogs Lord Bhairav will bless them and fulfill their wishes. 

Well all that kindness and compassion towards dogs is restricted only within the compounds of the temple. Because once the devotees return to their own world all that compassion vanishes. 

Because of Mahakaal, Ujjain should have been a place where dogs should have been loved and pampered. But that is not so. It is a place where dogs are tortured and murdered that to by the state machinery.

Just last month the municipal corporation of Ujjain has started Sterilization. That too after a lot of criticism and public pressure. But it is being done in the most inhuman and shabby manner. 

The dogs are being taken for operation and without properly stiching the open area and without letting it dry the dogs are being dropped back. To die of septic and infection. 

On 9th February it has been reported that dogs taken for Sterilization have been dropped back with open wounds which are either unstitched or not properly stiched. Their flesh can be seen hanging. This is inviting other hungry dogs who are smelling the open wound and flesh and are attacking the dogs and trying to eat  their flesh.

What can be more horrifying and heinous than this?

What on Earth is going on in Ujjain?

First the municipal corporation of Ujjain  killed dogs in the name of swachhta by picking them up with tongs and throwing them god knows where and now they are killing them in the name of Sterilization. 

The NGO which has got the contract and carrying out murder in the name of sterilization should be banned immediately.

It should also be punished for playing with the lives of the dogs. 

There are certain protocols to be followed for sterilization. 

Are the NGOs following those protocols? 

The answer is no. Even in city like Delhi many dogs have died after Sterilization. But fortunately many dogs in Delhi have caregivers. And it is the caregivers who often take the dogs for Sterilization and also help in their post operative care. The caregivers are very vigilant now and have zero tolerance to death due to Sterilization. 

When will our stare governments realize that every life is precious. Whether it be of humans or animals. 

Why kill them in the name of Sterilization? 

Better kill them by gun shots. The pain and trauma will be much less. 

This is the biggest mockery of our govt set up.
