On10th evening Jasssi along with PFA (people for animals) members and dog feeders from various parts of Delhi went to the Janakpuri police station and with the help of the PFA lawyer he registered his complaint against the RWA members and residents of his colony who had threatened him with dire consequences on the night of 8th October 2019 if he continued feeding the dog. And also harm the dog (kill him).
The dog as claimed by these people had bitten them. So they themselves decided that the dog is a threat to them and their children and needs to be killed. Without any medical examination or expert opinion they declared the dog rabid.
Anyway the dead body of the dog with injuries was found the next day. But as there was no evidence or witness of the brutal attack on the dog hence no FIR.
However, the RWA members and the residents have given a declaration in the police station that they will not stop anybody from feeding the dogs in the colony and will ensure that no harm is done to the dogs.
Such incidents keep happening in the city of Delhi all the time. This one got reported because Jassi was brave and had the courage to speak out against his own colony people. His neighbors and the RWA. Imagine he will have to live with this traumatic incident all his life and the guilt that he could not save the life of his friend.
He will see the murderers each day and feel so helpless.
Don't really know how the murderers are feeling.
Are they ashamed of their act or jubilating that they got away with this gruesome crime because of lack of evidence.
Please think?
Is Delhi a civilized place to live in?
Is it worth being called the capital city of India. The country which advocates nonnviolence, peace and vegetarianism to the whole world is unable to protect it's own animals and the people who care for them.
