Thank you to everyone who came out to our vigil last night and showed their love and support for André Goeritz - Andrew Jelmert's husband.
We stood side by side to honor the life of Andrew Jelmert and to demand real, tangible change in our park and community sanctuary - Griffith Park.
This, hours after Andrew's killer was charged with Murder.
At the vigil, I talked to CD4 Councilmember Nithya Raman, who pledged to do something about the safety of all users in Griffith Park. However, this change must come now - before any further injuries or loss of life. Enough is enough.
We have gotten news coverage on all major stations in Los Angeles. We have gotten coverage nationally. Here are just some of the articles and news pieces between last night and this morning:
We at Streets Are For Everyone need your continued help to keep the momentum going. We are not going to let-up until we have tangible results in making our park safe and bringing it back to the people.
Please share the petition to everyone you know.
Aids Life Cycle and Different Spokes are also hosting an Andrew Jelmert Memorial Ride this Sunday. I will be there.
