I received a phone call from a representative of Greene King. They have agreed to 'review' the name. Whilst this is good news, it does not mean that it will be changed without pressure. 

It turns out that trademark issues mean that it is not named after the car, but is suggestive of it. Thus, the name 'The Midget' is more akin to dwarfism than a car. I have pointed this out, making it even more important that Greene King change the name. I have suggested 'The Austin' which would still reflect Abingdon's heritage and not impact on any trademarks. I believe this to be a suitable option that would be please all parties. I hope you agree and will continue to support this campaign until Green King change the name.
