Today is Zachary Taylor’s Birthday. He was born in 1784. He was president from March 1849 (back then inauguration day was March 4) to July 1850 (his death). He was born in Orange County, Virginia. He was in the U.S. Army for 40 years. He was a Whig. His successor Fillmore was the last Whig president and last president to not be affiliated with either the Democratic or Republican parties.
