Sometimes all it takes is an opportunity to unlock it.
Over the past four years, Girls who Grow has supported hundreds of young women across Aotearoa to reconnect with the land, waterways, biodiversity, food systems and the people caring for them.
They've explored what it means to build resilience in the face of drought, flooding and biodiversity loss. They've worked alongside farmers, scientists, conservationists and community leaders, discovering that they are not simply inheriting the future, they can support to design it.
Cielo's story is one of many.
And there are hundreds more waiting to be written.
