Let’s make dog hunting in Virginia illegal!

1.) Cruelty to the dogs - Most dog hunters have lots of dogs and they do not get the care that they deserve. I have had dogs on my property everyday (which I don’t allow). The dogs show up on my porch hurt, wounded, malnourished, and covered in ticks and flees.  This is not a life for anyone.  They are kept outside in the cold and in cages. 

2.) Veterinarian - Most dog owners will never take there pets (dogs) to the vet if sick or injured. The dog will just be replaced. This is not a responsible pet owner. 

3.). Dog Registration - Dogs are never registered and properly tracked. 

4.) Private property - this is pretty much non existing with allowing dog hunting. Dogs run through property scaring your horses, cows, sheep, goats, your own pets.  Who is paying for the damages to fences, your farm animals, and your pets?  They don’t care for anyone’s personal property or personal animals.  Why should landowners pay taxes if your land is open to the public?  

5.)  Dogs chasing deer toward highways - Anywhere you go in VA that allows dog hunting, you will see vehicles lined up along the highways with hunters sitting in them waiting for the deer to run to them. Once they see the deer coming they get out of there trucks and open fire. The deer they do not kill run into the highway and get killed by oncoming traffic!!!!  Who pays for this or the lives that this could cause?  This is not hunting this is straight up lazy and not caring for anyone or anything other than themselves.
