Make Corunna State Forest (Compartment 3058) a National Park. No future logging

To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales
The Petition of the citizens of the electorate of Bega, the people of New South Wales, Australia and nearby Countries
Brings to the attention of the House the predicament of Corunna State Forest (Compartment 3058), recently harvested by forestry where:
- The habitat of threatened species of wildlife including the recently identified Masked Owl was destroyed
- The forest is a valuable resource for the capture of carbon, and will contribute to the carbon emissions target, thus reducing the impact of climate change.
- This is not a sustainable ecological practice. We need to plant trees not cut them down.
We therefore request that the compartment be preserved for the local community, future generations of holiday makers, and travellers who can enjoy the beauty and scenic route from Central Tilba to Narooma, particularly as the government has given the Eurobodalla Council monies to promote tourism in this area.
