Who could ever believe there would come a time in this Australia of ours, when those who CAN afford a deposit to buy a HOME to live in - would actually be financially much better off buying an INVESTMENT HOUSE instead?

The number of Tax Concessions given to HOUSE INVESTORS - rather than those seeking a secure HOME to LIVE and perhaps raise a family - now means that for young people with access to the 'Bank of Mum and Dad' (sadly I can't do much to help my children) this is the case!

It sounds insane - but apparently, that IS the case today's Australia. 

It's because housing INVESTORS can write-off as Tax Deductions 100% of their Mortgage Interest, Rates & Levies, Home Insurance and maintenance! 

While also being able to use any losses to reduce their salaried PAYE income                (May I reiterate that NO other country allows this?)

Of course, this particular article is discussing million-dollar houses which unless you have the Bank of Mum and Dad at your disposal most young people will NEVER in today's Australia, ever be able to save the deposit for! 

And how tragically sad is it that an absolute NECESSITY - safe, secure SHELTER that we all NEED to LIVE in - is now in Australia just an investors' playground.

This is WHY Australians need to demand HOUSING becomes a HUMAN RIGHT.
