Good afternoon,
First, we thank everyone who has signed, donated, and spread our message. Your support has been incredible, you all deserve our goal and more. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve surpassed 100 signatures and are on our way to growing even more.
However, the good news stops there. The School Board allegedly still insists that our petition is "Useless..." and that our “Community's opinion does not matter...” no matter how many signatures we receive. They seem to view education as a profit-driven venture, ignoring the voices of students, parents, and staff.
That is why we intend to explore ways to expand our cause, potentially even on a statewide scale. If they won’t listen to one community, can they ignore the collective voices of 50, 100, or even 1,000?
Maybe this is all for nothing, but even in the face of despair we still have to TRY EVERYTHING! While they cite staff shortages as justification for their decisions, we believe that supporting staff and students is the key to harboring a growing community.
We will continue to make posts about future events. Until then, have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.
- Lucas Smith, Robert Heinrich, Miles Murray, and everyone who has helped us
