Mahalin ang wikang Filipino at ang kapwa Pilipino
The Issue
MAHALIN ANG WIKANG FILIPINO AT KAPWA PILIPINO.
As our world continues to evolve, our traditions, lifestyles, and ways of communicating also change. However, amidst these changes, I have observed that our very own Filipino language is sometimes being forgotten, neglected, or undervalued, especially among the younger generation.
That is why I am creating this petition to encourage schools to provide at least one or two Filipino language-related activities every week. These activities do not have to focus on perfect grammar or complicated lessons. Instead, they can include simple yet comprehensible activities such as Filipino writing exercises, vocabulary games, storytelling, spoken Filipino activities, poetry, discussions, Filipino tounge twisters, or by just simply making a habit of talking in filipino language with your friends or family. These little ways will allow students to regularly practice and appreciate our language
The goal is not to demand that every Filipino become perfect in grammar. The goal is to keep our language alive by giving students opportunities to use, understand, appreciate, and love it. Through regular exposure, students can become more comfortable using Filipino and recognize its significance in our daily lives. Our language is more than just a medium of communication. Filipino is a symbol of our identity, unity, and nationalism. It represents the history of a nation whose people fought and sacrificed for freedom and for a country where Filipinos could understand and stand together with one another. Our language became one of the bridges that connected us as a people.
If we allow our language to be forgotten or buried with the time, we risk losing an important piece of our identity. But if we continue to use, teach, and appreciate it, we help preserve something that belongs to each and everyone of us. Most importantly, we can love the Filipino language while also loving our fellow Filipinos. “Mahalín ang Wikang Filipino at Kapwa Pilipino”reminds us that loving our language also means valuing the people, culture, history, and identity connected to it.Let us not wait until our language becomes something we only remember from history books. Let us practice it, appreciate it, and pass it on to future generations.
We call on schools, teachers, students, and communities to:
• Conduct at least one or two Filipino language-related activities every week.
•Encourage students to use Filipino without fear of making grammatical mistakes. Instead of judging them, support them by using the constructive criticism regarding their output.
• Craft enjoyable and meaningful activities that promote Filipino language and culture.
• Assist young people understand the importance of Filipino as part of our national identity.
• Encourage everyone to embrace the Filipino language and love their fellow Filipinos.
Sign this petition to support the preservation and appreciation of our Filipino language.
