Last night the Board adopted the Superintendent's skeletal recess policy by 4 votes and 1 abstain. But Member Khazai was correct that this issue will resurface - it is ripe. I'm so honored to be a part of the community that rose up for our students and teachers on this critical issue. Now we must work the site-based committees, which is less efficient but not insurmountable. And possible draft legislation is in the works. Stay tuned recess fans.
