It has been a year since this program has started and unfortunately not much more supports have been gained. I have reached out to the public education school board system, I have reached out to the television stations. I have reached out to Publix and asked for sponsorship. I have reached out to staples along side of the street and their corporations. It is hard to make a presence with little support, which is where you come in. The community, they people of our kids that attend public schools, and all of our family and friends who have kids or even do not. The matter is that a safe environment needs to be crated. I have also reached out to the school system and did not get a appropriate response, just a women who accused me of soliciting when I was standing in a parking lot getting signatures asking for no money. Aside from having a personal life and a baby on the way, I have not attended to this program such as I like. But I refuse to sit and wait to hear about another fatality at a public school due to lack of proper security measures. This program can indeed help avoid a life being taken, I truly believe. I have made successful headway with the veterans association and the associate I spoke with over the phone was very pleased of this program. We discussed the evaluation veterans are to have prior to starting the program. It will be at no cost to them long as they have the required time served. Now the next step is to continue to grow petitions, continue to grow as a community, and continue for make a change. United.
