Lysty and Warburton are no where near each other, so how does supporting the Warburton MTB destination help new trails be built at Lysty?

Well you see, the processes that have gone into developing the Warburton project will set a precedent for the future of trail development in Victoria. Lysterfield Park and Warburton also share a couple of decision makers who would be involved in any trail development at Lysterfield.

For some of us, the thought of putting in a submission for the EES seems daunting and overwhelming due to the sheer size of the document. However, the team at LDTR has put together a 30 sec video which will step you through the process and show just how simple it will be.

Here is an update from the team at Warburton:

"Prior to Christmas, the feedback was very balanced between negative and positive. To date, the EES process has never returned an overwhelmingly positive public response. We have an opportunity to create history. We’ve got the ambitious goal of delivering the first landslide publicly called for/supported project to ever go through the EES process, but we need your help!

Please, complete the feedback and share any post you see about the Warburton project.

The EES responses won’t dictate the result definitively, but it will play a big role in the consideration of the EES panel. We need to make sure that when reviewing the project, there is a massive influx of support calling for this project to get off the ground.
We have not provided a template for you to write in with, as we need to be genuine with this. Speak from your heart and personal experience. Speak about how much the mountain bike community means to you; how your bike has enriched your life or added value to your local community.

Remember, these aren’t mountain bikers reviewing the submission, and whilst this project centres around an MTB network, it’s not an MTB project. It’s a community based economic booster. It’s a public asset. It’s a chance to create jobs and facilitate visitation to the region. So, make sure you think about not how “sick the trails will be” (they’ll be sick can don’t worry about that), but how this project will add value to the Yarra valley and to Greater Melbourne.

The deadline for this submission is January 25th. This is the absolute last chance you’ve got to have your say and to fight for these trails. We know we’ve asked for your help before. We know you’ve probably submitted endless feedback and you’re tired of doing that - we are too. The fact that we’ve had a say multiple times now and we’re being asked yet again would be comical at any other point, but this is serious. Please don’t miss the opportunity to express your support for these trails, if you want to ride this network with us one day."
