

Ethical Consumer have just completed their independent research into Pets at Home's ethics as a company and as we suspected the results are pretty poor in the various categories.
Ethical Consumer say:
'Our research highlights many ethical issues for Pets At Home, including, environmental reporting, habitats & resources, pollutions and toxics, human rights, workers' rights, supply chain management, animal rights, animal testing, factory farming, and anti-social finance.'
Here is a summary of how Pets at Home scored:
- Worst Ethical Consumer rating for supply chain management
- Worst Ethical Consumer rating for environment reporting
- Worst Ethical Consumer rating on toxic chemicals - household care
- Worst Ethical Consumer rating for animal testing
- Worst Ethical Consumer rating for timber sourcing policy
- Worst Ethical Consumer rating for likely use of tax avoidance strategies
- Sale of animal products without a policy on GM animal feed.
- No cotton sourcing policy
- Sale of exotic pets
- Sale of leather
- Sale of meat products
- Target of campaign over live rabbit sales
- Fear over health of small animals
