Greyhound Racing is a blood sport somehow tolerated by the society we call civilised. People bet on these dogs for money, turning a blind eye to the cruelty and death that goes on beyond the track. 

Greyhounds are naturally gentle animals, but the greyhound racing industry discovered their talent - running - and exploited it. They trained them to become bloodthirsty killers, using live baiting to turn a loving animal into a killer. It is not in their nature to do this; but when they are brutally punished for disobeying ruthless training, they don't have another choice. 

Betting on their ability to run only fuels this abhorable 'sport'.
