You may have heard that due to Luton Council's Covid-related budget cuts the proposed road developments in Luton have been delayed by a year as the funding just isn't there for this expensive project at the moment. Even in good times, this money is better spent elsewhere! This extra time is great for giving us more time to have our views heard by the council, so it's critical to keep momentum!

So, I'm pleased to announce that Luton Extinction Rebellion have officially come on board to raise the profile of the campaign. Join us on Saturday 1st August for an afternoon of speaking to local residents on the roads adjacent to Vauxhall Way to let them know about the plans, and invite them to sign the petition.

Please join the Facebook event for the day (link below) where you can join in the discussion, come by to say hello on the day and if you want to get more involved you certainly can!

Many thanks to everyone who has signed and shared the petition, it's great to have 1750 of you on board! If you haven't written a comment about why you wanted to sign you still can, your words add a lot of power to your signature!

And don't forget, your local councillors are supposed to represent your views to the Council, so write to them and let them know how you feel! Remember the Liberal Democrats are already supporting us, so write to thank them for doing the right thing. Labour are the driving force behind the council though so they really need to hear your thoughts!

If you're not sure who your local councillor is or how to contact them, check here: https://www.mysociety.org/wehelpyou/contact-your-local-councillor/
