UPDATE: 4th November 2018

On the 23rd October 2018 a German MEP - Mr Stefan Bernhard Eck addressed members gathered in the Europäisches Parlament Straßburg regarding the disgusting treatment of the stray dogs in Romania.

The Romanian President Mr Klaus Iohannis was also in this meeting.

Please read the text below in bold for more detailed information.  Up to now Mr Eck has no update on the proceedings, but he has promised to keep me informed of progress if and indeed when there is any.  I have the upmost respect for Mr Stefan Bernhard Eck MEP for his devotion to animal welfare, and as soon as I know more it will be posted here.  Thank you dear Mr Eck!!

Mep eck criticizes Romanian President Klaus Iohannis: " the population was manipulated in 2013 by politicians and media to justify the massacre on the dogs...!"

On 23.10.2018, the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis was a guest in the European Parliament in strasbourg to present his view on the future of Europe.

The EU member Stefan Bernhard Eck used this opportunity to address the cruel mass of streunerhunden in Romania and call on the president to finally assert his political influence on a human and modern population management in which animals are taken into account as a human being. Mep eck stressed that there is no place in our Europe for mass of street and reminded president iohannis that animal welfare belongs to European values.

It was the first time in the plenary of the European Parliament to discuss the massacres in the dogs in Romania.
