Coming up this Wednesday the 28th of September, lowering the federal voting age to 16 years old will be proposed in the House of Commons and our Members of Parliament will vote either in favour, or against it. With 338 Members of Parliament, legislation requires 170 votes to pass. The Yukon's Member of Parliament, Brendan Hanley does not have a stance on lowering the voting age. This is where we need your help, if your Member of Parliament doesn't support Vote 16 yet, take a few minutes to write them a polite and short e-mail expressing your desire for their support of lowering the voting age, you can include a reason of why this is important to you. And let us know if you hear back!
Find out if your Member of Parliament supports lowering the voting age and their e-mail in our ressources on the national campaign website : www.vote16.ca/170
Thank you so much for your support,
