Thanks to you, Lowe’s has committed to take toxic paint strippers off store shelves by the end of 2018! After this year, Lowe’s stores across the world will no longer sell paint strippers with methylene chloride or NMP. We want to thank everyone who contributed to this victory, which is a tribute to Drew’s memory. While this action won’t bring back Drew, or others who have sadly lost their lives to methylene chloride, it will hopefully prevent future injuries and deaths. Altogether, between this petition and others, more than 200,000 people asked Lowe’s to do the right thing. Thank you, everyone! Will you help us thank Lowe’s for doing the right thing? Share on Facebook: http://bit.ly/2H7FAyE Share on Twitter: http://bit.ly/2smLN5n We hope this announcement will also put pressure on other retailers such as The Home Depot to act. Please join this effort by signing the Safer Chemicals Healthy Families petition to The Home Depot: https://www.change.org/p/home-depot-home-depot-stop-selling-dangerous-chemicals We also continue to push the EPA for a full ban on these chemicals in paint strippers. The agency has been considering a proposal to ban them since last January but has yet to act.
