We've been blown away by the support this campaign has received. And yesterday a group of leading public health organizations joined all 47,000 of you in calling on Lowe's to stop selling dangerous paint strippers! In a letter to Lowe's, the Learning Disabilities Association of America, Autism Society of America and other groups groups warned that parents’ exposure to these toxic solvent chemicals has been linked to a host of health problems for their children, including low birth weight, impaired motor and verbal skills, attention deficit hyperactivity behaviors and increased risk of brain tumors. As they said, "When preparing a nursery, no expectant parent should have to worry that the chemicals in the paint strippers they are using might do irreparable harm to their baby’s developing brain." You can read their press release at https://ldaamerica.org/deadly-diy-press-release/ To support the campaign, please share on Facebook or Twitter. Here's a sample message: Learning and developmental disabilities groups call on @Lowes to stop selling paint strippers containing chemicals that put children's brains—and people's lives—at risk.
