Home invasions, car jackings, robberies and serious assaults are becoming common place in Victoria, largely because the targets are defenceless people whom the police CANNOT protect. The perpetrators of these offences have no fear of the police or the courts. The public MUST be given the legal authority to purchase, possess and use pepper spray in self defence. It surely is only a matter of time before someone is very seriously injured/killed in these attacks. Remember, the police CANNOT protect us from these offences happening to us and the bad guys know that. How many women who were simply walking alone and have been murdered, would still be alive today if they had Pepper Spray? Probably more that one of them.
