Dear Royal Vista Community, 

We are at a critical point in this process, and we need everyone who cares about our open space to get involved. 

The LA County Supervisors said the land-use restriction is a legal matter between us and the developers, and they will NOT consider it in the rezoning process. It must be considered. We have vetted several attorneys who feel our deed document is valid, and grounds for legal action. We need your financial support in this fight.

The developer held a virtual meeting last evening, to present the proposed development. They bypassed the Rowland Heights Community Coordinating Council (RHCCC). Historically they have been the recognized group that arranges meetings between developers and our community. The LAC Dept. Regional Planning encouraged the developer to host their own community meeting, going around RHCCC. The result is that the developer's one required community meeting has been met by last night's virtual meeting. This allows the developer to continue to move forward with the plan to rezone our Open Space. There were about 56 attendees last night. Thank you to those who attended or spoke. Every voice counts!

We are not opposed to housing, parks and walking trails. We want to preserve the Open Space. Housing can be built on underutilized land, already covered in concrete. Both are needed, and both can co-exist. 

We are counting on the support of this community. Together we can stop the development, and save our open space for current and future generations!
