Puente Hills Landfill Park Master PlanEstados Unidos
27 oct 2016
Congratulations everyone! We're proud to share that on Monday, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors APPROVED the far-reaching Puente Hills Landfill Park Master Plan, which will build the FIRST COUNTY REGIONAL PARK OF THIS MILLENNIUM, in a region of the San Gabriel Valley with high park need. An unprecedented community engagement effort, and support from multiple organizations, cities, agencies and residents were instrumental in getting this passed. "Puente" means "bridge" in Spanish, and this unique mountaintop park will fittingly be a bridge to nature, fitness and environmental awareness for generations to come. With 142 acres of open space, and panoramic views of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, this site will offer our suburban population a whole new way to get outdoors and get active. We worked 18 months with the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks & Recreation, community, government leaders, technical experts and local organizations to develop a #Park4All vision that balances diverse objectives, and we THANK YOU for taking the time to sign this petition, share with friends, attend a public meeting and contact your Supervisor directly. This is a result of the public's collective desire for this park. Thanks to our partners and neighbors: Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, Rio Hondo College, Rose Hills Memorial Park, and Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority.
