Let’s Get More Opposition to Road Closures!

Thanks for signing our petition against road closures in Lewisham. We now have over 3,000 signatures on the petition and it will be submitted to Lewisham Council and Councillors in the next few days. But it’s not too late to get your neighbours, friends, relations and work colleagues to sign it. You should also add your comments to the Council’s web site here: https://lewishamcovidresidentialstreets.commonplace.is/ (click on the top right to select individual roads). The more negative comments the Council receives, the more likely they are to remove the closures.

 We are also consulting solicitors on the legality of what the Council has been doing. We believe road closures using the Covid-19 epidemic as a justification makes no sense and is open to challenge.

Opposition to road closures all across London is growing where a few Councils like Lewisham are creating more congestion, more air pollution and very much longer journey times for everyone. Let’s make sure this irrationality is stopped before the changes are made permanent!
