You can help protect our libraries. March with us from Windrush Square, Brixton from 10.30am tomorrow (Saturday). Lambeth today announced Waterloo will be sold; Minet and Carnegie will be handed to private company GLL to become fee charging gyms. Tate South Lambeth and Durning have been given a temporary reprieve but their future is to be consolidated into a new library for the North of the Borough. Upper Norwood sees its funding slashed and its library service decommissioned and its future library provision handed over to a trust. The Friends Of Lambeth Libraries believe savings can be delivered in a way which retains a professional library service across all ten libraries of the borough’s libraries.
