Yet another South Norwood High Street shop forced to close.

Further to the 2016 petition on Change.org appealing to Croydon Council to suspend planning applications from high street shops to flats, Dobson Upholstery has been served notice.  Planning Application is being considered to turn Dobson Upholstery, 47 High Street, SE25 from a commercial property to residential.

Supporters of the previous petition commented that the repeated conversions from South Norwood shops to flats must stop, the area is losing its character, and the need to support long-standing local businesses.

Dobson Upholstery has been in South Norwood for nearly forty years.  We were forced out of our shop in Portland Road to make way for residential flats and now we face being forced out of our High Street shop so that it can be converted into a studio flat.

We are a small, independent family business that has successfully traded in South Norwood for the last 40 years and want to stay.
