Request to pass the maternity bill in Loksabha
The Issue
Hi, I am a citizen of India writing on behalf of every women working in private organizations. I am expecting a baby soon and working in one of India's renowned IT company. My request is to pass the maternity bill which allows 6 months of maternity leave.
As of now the leaves are only for 3 months, which is very less, because this is the time when the mother has to take care of the newborns to the best. Biologically as well as emotionally, this is the best time for the mothers to connect with their babies.
We all know that in government sectors the leave benefit is for 1 year. At least we, working in private sectors should be privileged with 6 months of leaves.
I know that we do have facilities of Day Cares etc.. but it is not right to leave a baby there just after 3 months when they need utmost care by their mothers.
Thanks in advance. Hope my request will not be ignored and will be taken as priority.
