If canals in Ashley Valley are replaced by pipes to eliminate seepage, trees that depend on that seepage will not survive. Everyone understands trees.  What most do not understand is that the large pipeline directed toward the Green River and under construction now would replace the Steinaker Service Canal, and will enable sale of water for export from the Valley if completed. Signing this petition to oppose the Steinaker Water Pipeline will help prevent thirsty southern cities from buying our water by denying them the infrastructure to accomplish the feat. This will assure that our largest trees remain healthy and that our water resources are undiminished by export of water.
